Essential oils like Lemon, Grapefruit, and Basil offer effective headache relief through their therapeutic properties. Here’s how you can use these oils to alleviate your headache symptoms.

Essential Oils for Headache Relief

Lemon Essential Oil

The Headache Relief Blend 

Ingredients: 

2 drops of Lemon essential oil 

2 drops of Grapefruit essential oil 

1 drop of Basil essential oil

How to use

Inhalation: 

Boil a pot of water and pour it into a bowl. Add the essential oils to the hot water. Drape a towel over your head to create a tent and lean over the bowl - remember to keep your face 30cm from the top of the bowl. Inhale the steam deeply 3-5 breaths at a time on and off for about 5-10 minutes. Be careful not to get too close to the hot water to avoid burns. Diffusion: Add the essential oils to a diffuser filled with water. Place the diffuser in your room and let it run for 30-60 minutes. This method is particularly useful for creating a relaxing and therapeutic environment. 

Topical Application: 

Mix the essential oils with a carrier oil, such as almond or coconut oil, using a dilution ratio of about 1-2 drops of essential oil per teaspoon of carrier oil. Gently massage the blend onto your temples, the back of your neck, and your shoulders. Be sure to avoid the eye area. 

Bath: 

Add the essential oils to a warm bath along with a carrier oil or Epsom salts. Soak in the bath for 15-20 minutes to allow the oils to penetrate your skin and provide relief.
